When Holden launched its all-new Torana range in May 1967, no one could have
foreseen what an iconic model it would become. 'Torana' is an aboriginal
word meaning 'to fly' and it proved to be a most appropriate name as
Holden's new small car was destined to soar to great heights of motor sport
success in the years that followed.
From the first six cylinder LC GTR XU-1 of 1970 to the final V8-powered LX A9X of 1977,
the Torana won countless national race and rally championship titles, including multiple Sandown 400 and Bathurst 500/1000 victories. Torana - an Australian Muscle Car legend.
