In 1971 Led Zepplin released Stairway to Heaven, Don McLean sang American Pie and Rolls Royce went into receivership – just before the Americans were driving around on the moon in their ‘lunar rover’ buggy. It was also the year that Yamaha before design work on one of the best road bikes that never went into production, the Yamaha GL750. Ten years ahead of its time, it may have changed the face of motorcycling.
