2007 marked 45 years of motor racing at the famous Mount Panorama circuit and the extraordinary Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 did not disappoint.
 
Watch as Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup lead the first Ford trifecta since 1988; and became the first pair since 1996 to take the Sandown-Bathurst double.
 
Who could forget the ‘edge of your seat’, nail biting excitement of Lowndes and Whincup’s second straight Bathurst victory as they survive a highly dramatic final dash in the wet to finish just clear of James Courtney and David Besnard, and Steven Johnson and Will Davison.
 
Light rain 18 laps from the finish made for treacherous conditions and chaos reigned. It was as race that could have been anybody’s.
 
In all, the brutal Mountain claimed 16 of the 31 starters including Championship leaders Rick Kelly and Garth Tander who retired from the race brake problems became too unsafe.
